This project tested use of mobile phones to access product information based on established traceability information and datamatrix tagged food items.

Partners: Nortura, Mobiletech, SINTEF Fisheries and aquaculture, Telespor, ACT Gruppen, and Telenor.

Objective: Establish a system that based on traceability information can give extended product information on a mobile phone.

Description: The food was tagged with 2D Datamatrix which was taken a picture of and sent as MMS to a specific portal. The portal returned a GTIN as a Wap push enabling access to additional information regarding the specific unique ID codified by the Datamatrix
