Getting an overview of involved business partners
A necessary task before establishing chain traceability is to define the business partners that are involved in the traceability. The partners should be divided into the following categories:
Supply chain participants:
- Suppliers (Food business operators that receive, produce and supplies raw materials, ingredients, finished products and packaging)
- Customers (retailers, HORECA, etc)
- Transporters
Infrastructure providers:
- Software suppliers (if electronic traceability is to be established)
- GS1
- CEN
