Dr. Finn Olav Bjørnson, SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture
Dr. Bjørnson finished his master thesis in the field of databases at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2002. The main focus of the thesis was location- and temporal-based searches in databases. In 2007 he successfully defended his PhD thesis "Knowledge Management in Software Process Improvement". The focus of the thesis was empirical observations and testing of how knowledge was created and transfered in the software process, and how this could be applied to improve the development process. From 2004, Bjørnson has authored or co-authored 17 scientific papers.
Dr. Bjørnson has since November 2007 been employed at SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture, where he is working with the logistics and traceability group. Specifically with good traceability practice guides and setting up the tracefood wiki (TRACE project), investigating intelligent farming using data from fish farms to create decision support systems, and working on experience transfer in IT companies in cooperation with SINTEF ICT.
